Senior Environmental Test Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Test Engineer to lead the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of environmental test campaigns for advanced aerospace and high-reliability systems. This role is critical to validating system performance, reliability, and safety across demanding operational environments.
You will be responsible for translating system-level requirements into robust environmental test programs, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring test readiness, execution, and reporting meet program objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of environmental test campaigns, including thermal, altitude, vibration, humidity, and related testing.
- Translate system and subsystem requirements into test objectives, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Own environmental test planning from concept through execution, analysis, and reporting.
- Coordinate and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and support test execution activities.
- Provide technical leadership across systems, structures, electrical, and operations teams.
- Manage environmental test infrastructure, equipment, and external test vendors.
- Analyze test data, document results, and present findings to engineering leadership.
- Ensure testing aligns with applicable industry standards and internal quality requirements.
- Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities within test programs and infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of environmental testing experience, including 3+ years leading test campaigns for aerospace or complex engineering systems.
- Demonstrated experience designing and executing environmental test programs.
- Strong understanding of environmental test standards and best practices.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with aerospace, defence, unmanned systems, or other high-reliability platforms.
- Familiarity with certification or qualification testing requirements.
- Experience in startup or fast-paced engineering environments.
- Experience with test automation, data acquisition systems, and advanced instrumentation.
