Engineering Manager – RF Product Development

Location: East Brunswick, NJ | Onsite, five days per week
Salary: $139,000–$175,000 base, depending on experience – flexible

About the Company

Join an established RF technology company developing high-performance amplifiers and microwave subsystems for defense, aerospace, unmanned vehicles, and satellite communications. Its products improve communications range, reliability, and data throughput in demanding environments.

The Opportunity

Lead a small team of approximately 4–5 engineers and technicians developing new RF hardware products. You’ll guide projects from requirements through design reviews, testing, and production readiness, while organizing priorities and helping the team resolve technical challenges.

This is primarily a management and technical leadership position, with minimal hands-on design or bench work expected. Experienced RF engineers with project leadership and mentoring experience are encouraged to apply alongside current engineering managers.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily activities, priorities, workloads, and schedules for the product development team.

  • Oversee RF amplifier and comparable RF hardware projects from requirements through verification and production planning.

  • Review technical information and provide guidance on design and troubleshooting.

  • Coordinate engineering, testing, quality, assembly, and production to resolve issues and maintain delivery schedules.

  • Support customer requirements, proposals, Statements of Work, and contractor specifications.

  • Oversee documentation for preliminary and critical design reviews.

  • Communicate project progress, technical risks, and delivery expectations to stakeholders.

  • Mentor team members, establish performance goals, and support hiring and onboarding.

  • Improve engineering processes and product development practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Approximately 7–8 years of relevant RF hardware experience, ideally involving amplifiers, radios, microwave products, or comparable RF modules.

  • Understanding of hardware development, verification testing, and manufacturing.

  • Experience managing a small engineering team or leading projects and overseeing junior engineers.

  • Technical judgment to guide engineers and help resolve development challenges.

  • Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Ability to work onsite in East Brunswick, NJ.

  • U.S. person eligibility under ITAR due to access to export-controlled technical data.

Preferred Experience

  • Direct RF power amplifier development experience.

  • Previous ownership of an engineering or product development function.

  • Delivery of complex RF assemblies for government customers or prime contractors.

  • Familiarity with CAD tools and technical design reviews.

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Why Join?

  • Own new product development for hardware supporting defense, aerospace, and satellite applications.

  • Lead a small team with direct influence over priorities, technical decisions, and delivery.

  • Apply your RF experience in a leadership role with minimal bench work.

  • Work closely with engineering leadership across the product lifecycle.

  • Current managers and experienced technical leads stepping into management are welcome.

  • Relocation candidates are welcome to apply.
