The Opportunity
EVONA is partnering with an innovative aerospace technology company developing advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector II to join the Quality team in Austin, Texas. This is a hands-on position where you will work alongside engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to ensure sophisticated aerospace and electronic hardware meets rigorous quality and customer requirements.
You will play an important role throughout the production process, inspecting PCB/PCBA assemblies, electronic and electromechanical components, cable assemblies, and manufactured hardware while supporting non-conformance resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Execute Quality Control processes covering purchased products, manufacturing operations, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Inspect printed circuit boards and assemblies (PCB/PCBAs), electrical, electronic and electromechanical (EEE) components, and cable assemblies.
- Conduct microscopic visual inspections against applicable workmanship and quality standards.
- Perform dimensional inspections using equipment including calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, and Vision Measuring Machines (VMMs).
- Accurately document inspection activities through electronic systems, inspection logs, labels, and other quality records.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of inspection methods, inspection plans, quality procedures, and internal processes.
- Assist with internal and external non-conformance investigations using root cause analysis, corrective action, and 8D methodologies.
- Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and the control and disposition of non-conforming material.
- Assist with quality data analysis, departmental metrics, and reporting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across Quality and Manufacturing.
- Assist with resolving audit findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Help coordinate day-to-day inspection activities to maintain accurate and timely turnaround.
- Perform additional Quality Control responsibilities as required.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant quality or inspection experience.
- At least 2 years of PCB/PCBA inspection experience.
- Current or previous IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 certification.
- Experience working within an AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Demonstrable microscopic visual inspection experience.
- Experience using dimensional inspection equipment such as calipers, gauges, and VMMs.
- Ability to confidently interpret engineering documentation, CAD drawings, specifications, and detailed work instructions.
- Experience working with ERP and PLM systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently follow controlled processes and procedures.
- Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience within aerospace, space, defence, avionics, or advanced electronics manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
