Lead Launch Engineer | Spacecraft Integration & Mission Operations

 

A cutting-edge aerospace company developing next-generation space systems is seeking a Lead Launch Engineer to oversee spacecraft integration and launch operations for orbital missions.

This is a highly visible, hands-on engineering leadership role responsible for ensuring mechanical readiness, launch campaign execution, and mission success from spacecraft arrival through launch.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead spacecraft mechanical integration and launch preparation activities

• Manage launch vehicle interface operations and integration sequencing

• Oversee Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) deployment and readiness

• Serve as the primary mechanical authority during launch campaigns

• Coordinate cross-functional engineering, test, and launch provider teams

• Resolve real-time hardware and integration challenges during operations

• Review and approve procedures, workflows, and technical dispositions

• Drive operational improvements across launch processes and tooling

 

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

• 8+ years of aerospace, launch operations, or high-reliability hardware experience

• Strong spacecraft or payload integration background

• Experience supporting launch campaigns or flight hardware processing

• CAD proficiency (Inventor, Creo, SolidWorks, NX, CATIA)

• Strong understanding of aerospace standards, GD&T, and configuration control

• Ability to lead effectively in high-pressure operational environments
