A cutting-edge defense technology organisation is seeking a Senior Sensor Fusion & Algorithm Engineer to help turn complex, high-noise sensor data into actionable intelligence.
This role sits at the intersection of physics, advanced signal processing, and machine learning. You will play a key part in developing high-fidelity models that power next-generation space and missile defense systems.
If you thrive in high-stakes environments where performance, precision, and real-time decision making matter, this could be a strong fit.
What You Will Be Doing
-
Designing and deploying multi-sensor fusion architectures to create a unified, real-time common operating picture from heterogeneous, high-cadence data streams
-
Implementing techniques such as Kalman Filtering, Bayesian estimation, and statistical signal processing
-
Applying advanced DSP methods to extract weak signatures in high-noise environments prior to ML ingestion
-
Translating complex physics-based systems into ML-augmented solutions in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams
-
Building and integrating numerical simulations of physical systems, including orbital mechanics and aerodynamics, with machine learning models
-
Optimising models for low-latency, real-time deployment across specialised defense hardware and cloud environments
What We Are Looking For
-
3+ years of experience in Engineering or Applied Physics within Aerospace and Defense
-
Strong foundation in Kalman Filtering, Bayesian methods, and statistical signal processing
-
Experience building numerical or machine learning models of physical systems using large, complex datasets
-
Hands-on experience developing ML models for time-series and sensor data using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
-
Strong data engineering capability including feature engineering, data augmentation, and signal conditioning
-
Experience taking advanced models from research environments into live, mission-critical production systems
Nice to Have
-
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Physics
-
Experience with Physics-Informed Neural Networks or Neural Operators
-
Background in Space Domain Awareness or Missile Defense applications
-
Familiarity with real-time data processing frameworks such as Spark or Kafka and deployment using Kubernetes
Why Apply?
You will be joining a mission-driven team working on some of the most technically challenging problems in modern defense. The work directly supports national security priorities and requires a high level of technical ownership and innovation.
This is an opportunity to operate at the cutting edge of sensor fusion, physics-based modelling, and machine learning in real-world, high-impact environments.
