Senior Power Systems Engineer (Power Integrity)
Senior Power Systems Engineer
? Miami, Florida | Permanent | Onsite / hybrid
A leading satellite communications company is building the world's first space-based mobile broadband network that connects standard smartphones directly to satellites.
This is cutting edge, first-of-it's-kind technology with no special hardware required, allowing people to get 4G/5G anywhere on Earth.
As these spacecraft become larger and more power-dense, the electrical and power systems are critical to mission success.
They are hiring a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join a cross-functional spacecraft engineering team and support the full lifecycle of satellite power systems, from early architecture and design through testing, launch, and on-orbit operations.
This role suits a broad power engineer who enjoys working across systems, hardware, and testing, with exposure to power integrity as part of a wider electrical scope.
What you’ll be doing
-
Contributing to electrical and power system requirements, architecture, and trade studies
-
Supporting design activities including schematics, layouts, drawings, and BOM reviews
-
Performing power analyses such as voltage drop, transient behaviour, grounding, derating, and power integrity
-
Supporting PDN analysis and validation activities in collaboration with specialist teams
-
Defining and supporting power system test plans, qualification, and acceptance testing
-
Supporting root-cause analysis during test campaigns and operations
-
Participating in post-launch data review and anomaly investigation
-
Working closely with systems, RF, digital, and mechanical engineers across the spacecraft lifecycle
What they’re looking for
-
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
-
Experience working on electrical or power systems in aerospace, space, defence, or complex hardware environments
-
Understanding of power system components such as batteries, solar arrays, harnessing, and power distribution
-
Comfortable working across design, test, and operational phases
-
Strong communication skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
-
Authorised to work in the US without sponsorship
Nice to have
-
Experience with satellite or space power systems
-
Exposure to power integrity, PDN analysis, or related simulation tools
-
Experience leading technical projects or owning subsystem work packages
-
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics
Why this role
-
End-to-end involvement across design, test, and flight operations
-
Exposure to complex, high-power spacecraft systems
-
Opportunity to grow deeper into satellite power and power integrity work
-
Long-term programme with real mission impact
If you’re a power systems engineer who enjoys working on real hardware and seeing designs through to launch and operations, this is an excellent opportunity to explore.
