Robotics Software Engineer (Customer Facing)
Robotics Software Engineer (Customer Facing) | Aerial Autonomy | UAV | Drones | Remote | US-Based
We’re working with one of the most exciting venture-backed robotics startups in the defense-tech space, developing real-time autonomous systems that operate in the air and are used directly by operators in the field. Backed by leading investors, this team builds mission-critical UAV software that integrates into next-generation defense platforms.
They’re hiring a Customer Facing Robotics Software Engineer to join their growing technical team. If you have spent the last few years working on drones or UAVs, building C++ based robotics systems, and want to bring real autonomy into real-world environments, this is the one.
What you'll be working on:
- Developing and iterating on UAV and robotics software used in defense-focused environments
- Working directly with operators to understand how the system behaves in the field
- Prototyping UAV features, running flight tests, collecting feedback and refining quickly
- Supporting mapping, navigation, perception and mission capabilities for aerial robots
- Troubleshooting live issues in the field and shaping product direction based on operator needs
- Collaborating with autonomy, hardware and product teams to take UAV systems from lab to deployment
What you'll bring:
- Hands-on experience with UAVs or drones
- Strong C++ skills and solid robotics software foundations
- Experience with navigation, mapping, or computer vision
- Comfort working directly with end users, operators and field teams
- Ability to operate without rigid requirements and iterate through trial and error
- A proactive, hands-on mindset suited to small, fast-moving engineering teams
Bonus points for: PX4 or Ardupilot experience, computer vision, startup experience, university robotics or drone competition work
Why this role?
Work on cutting-edge UAV tech with real-world deployment
Be part of a fast-moving, VC-backed startup with huge growth potential
