About the Role
We are seeking a Satellite Manufacturing Engineer to support the assembly, integration, and production of advanced spacecraft systems. This role serves as a critical bridge between engineering and manufacturing, ensuring that spacecraft hardware is built efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with quality and program requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting both mechanical and electrical manufacturing activities and enjoys working hands-on with technicians and engineers to solve production challenges. You will play a key role in developing manufacturing processes, improving production workflows, and supporting spacecraft integration from component-level assembly through final system testing.


What You'll Do

  • Generate and maintain detailed manufacturing work instructions from engineering drawings, CAD models, electrical interface documents, schematics, BOMs, and technical documentation
  • Develop, release, and maintain Manufacturing Orders (MOs), routings, travelers, and production records within ERP/MES systems
  • Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing and integration technicians during spacecraft assembly, integration, harness installation, and testing activities
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and integration issues on the production floor and coordinate corrective actions with engineering teams
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for mechanical assembly, electrical integration, cable and harness installation, subsystem integration, and test operations
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Test, and Systems Engineering teams to improve manufacturability and production efficiency
  • Support configuration management activities and ensure manufacturing documentation remains aligned with released engineering baselines
  • Assist with nonconformance investigations, root cause analysis, rework planning, and corrective action implementation
  • Support production planning efforts including work sequencing, build readiness reviews, material status verification, and manufacturing risk assessments
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, ESD/FOD controls, cleanroom procedures, and safety requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, tooling, workflows, and documentation quality
  • Support process development and validation for new spacecraft products, manufacturing methods, and integration techniques

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 3–8 years of experience supporting aerospace, satellite, avionics, electronics, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments
  • Experience developing manufacturing work instructions, manufacturing orders, and production documentation from engineering drawings and technical data packages
  • Experience supporting both mechanical and electrical manufacturing operations
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, harness documentation, electrical interface documents, assembly procedures, and engineering specifications
  • Hands-on experience supporting precision mechanical assembly, electronics integration, cable and harness installation, or spacecraft subsystem integration
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing and integration challenges in a production environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process development, configuration control, and production workflows
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced development and production environment
  • Experience working in cleanroom, ESD-controlled, and FOD-controlled environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting spacecraft, launch vehicle, or other spaceflight hardware programs
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES platforms such as Odoo, SAP, VECAMS, or similar systems
