Senior Staff Mechanical Analyst
A fast-growing company developing next-generation planetary mobility and autonomous systems are hiring a Senior Staff Mechanical Analyst to join its growing engineering team. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across complex mechanical analysis activities, supporting the development of advanced vehicle and mobility systems from concept through to qualification and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity analytical models for advanced vehicle and mobility platforms
- Perform detailed mechanical analyses including stress, loads, fatigue/fracture, vibration, structural dynamics, and durability assessments
- Collaborate closely with design engineering teams to rapidly iterate and optimise hardware designs
- Support programme execution through task planning, schedule management, and coordination with leadership teams
- Lead and mentor analysts across multiple concurrent projects and technical workstreams
- Review and oversee analysis outputs to ensure technical quality and compliance with applicable engineering standards
- Contribute to the development and standardisation of engineering processes, methodologies, and best practices
- Produce technical documentation, reports, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders
- Generate loading environments and analysis requirements for suppliers and external partners
- Support major engineering milestones including design reviews, test readiness reviews, and failure investigations
- Engage with customers, external agencies, and technical working groups as required
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years’ experience performing mechanical analysis on complex aerospace, automotive, or spaceflight systems
- Proven experience leading engineering analysis teams within multidisciplinary environments
- Strong expertise in finite element modelling and structural analysis methodologies
- Proficiency with industry-standard analysis tools such as ANSYS, FEMAP, MATLAB, LS-DYNA, or similar software packages
- Experience interpreting loading profiles, environmental conditions, and test data
- Knowledge of dynamics, kinematics, fatigue, fracture mechanics, and composite structures
- Familiarity with aerospace, NASA, or government engineering standards and specifications
- Experience supporting design reviews, qualification activities, and technical investigations
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical reporting skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to thrive in a rapid development, fast-paced engineering environment
- Eligibility to work on programmes subject to U.S. export control regulations
