Location: Irvine, CA
Shift: Night Shift (4 Days On / 2 Days Off, 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 + Benefits

This team delivers critical remote sensing capabilities that provide reliable data day and night, through all weather conditions, supporting defense, intelligence, emergency response, and scientific applications.
We are seeking a motivated Satellite Operator to support mission operations and ensure the successful execution of spacecraft activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems in real time and working in a fast-paced operational environment where reliability and attention to detail are essential.


What You'll Do

  • Perform daily monitoring and commanding activities for satellites and supporting TT&C ground network systems.
  • Monitor spacecraft health and network performance, responding to alarms and coordinating troubleshooting activities when required.
  • Execute nominal and contingency procedures across the satellite fleet.
  • Support spacecraft anomaly investigations and assist engineers in collecting data and generating anomaly reports.
  • Conduct routine checks on spacecraft performance trends and contribute to preliminary analysis efforts.
  • Maintain shift logs and participate in shift handovers and operational briefings.
  • Create, update, and maintain satellite operations procedures and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain operational tools that improve mission efficiency.
  • Own and support internal projects and cross-functional initiatives that enhance operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, or another STEM discipline.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting spacecraft or satellite operations.
  • Experience with scripting or Python programming.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of spacecraft telemetry, command systems, and mission operations processes.
