The Opportunity

EVONA is recruiting for a forward-thinking aerospace technology company at the forefront of advanced satellite and airborne communication systems.

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer II to contribute to the design, analysis, development, and qualification of high-performance mechanical hardware supporting next-generation aerospace communication technologies.

The successful candidate will work on technically challenging projects involving active phased array antenna systems, electronics packaging, precision mechanical assemblies, and ruggedized aerospace hardware.

This role offers the opportunity to work across the entire engineering lifecycle, from concept development and detailed design through simulation, manufacturing, testing, and product qualification.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design mechanical components, structures, assemblies, and electronics packaging for aerospace communication products.

  • Develop detailed mechanical designs, 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials.

  • Conduct thermal, structural, stress, shock, and vibration analyses to validate mechanical performance.

  • Apply finite element analysis (FEA) and engineering calculations to optimize designs.

  • Support thermal management, EMI/EMC mitigation, and mechanical integration of electronic assemblies.

  • Perform tolerance studies and apply GD&T to ensure precision and manufacturability.

  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop mechanically robust electronic systems.

  • Support prototype development, CNC manufacturing, assembly, and environmental qualification testing.

  • Investigate design and manufacturing challenges, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.

  • Participate in engineering design reviews and communicate technical findings to internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Maintain engineering documentation and support configuration management throughout product development.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience in electronics packaging design and analysis or spacecraft structures and mechanisms.

  • Experience designing mechanical hardware for electronic assemblies.

  • Proficiency with professional CAD and FEA software, including tools such as SolidWorks Simulation.

  • Understanding of thermal management, vibration, stress, and structural analysis.

  • Practical knowledge of CNC machining and precision manufacturing processes.

  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.

  • Strong technical communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills That Would Be Valuable

  • Experience in aerospace, satellite communications, defense, or high-reliability electronics.

  • Exposure to active phased array antenna systems or RF electronics packaging.

  • Experience supporting environmental testing and hardware qualification.

  • Understanding of spacecraft mechanical interfaces and aerospace manufacturing requirements.

  • Experience working within multidisciplinary product development teams.

What’s on Offer?

  • Opportunity to work on advanced aerospace and communication technologies.

  • Company equity opportunities.

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.

  • Retirement plans and additional employee benefits.

  • Hands-on involvement in engineering projects from design through qualification.

  • Collaborative, technically driven engineering environment.
