Lead Flight Software Engineer

Denver – Hybrid

We’re recruiting a Lead Flight Software Engineer for a space company developing and operating spacecraft across commercial, government and science missions. You’ll combine hands-on C++ development with technical leadership, mentoring a team of five engineers and improving how flight software is built and tested.

What you’ll do

• Develop and architect application-level flight software across spacecraft subsystems.
• Guide engineers on modern C++ design and implementation.
• Improve testing practices, processes and technical direction.
• Support missions through development, launch and on-orbit operations.

The role is expected to be roughly 50% hands-on engineering and 50% team development, with the balance changing as projects require.

What you’ll bring

• Experience developing flight software for spacecraft, beyond low-level firmware alone.
• Strong modern C++ skills and experience with concurrent or multithreaded systems.
• Experience working across multiple spacecraft subsystems.
• The ability to mentor engineers and work effectively with changing priorities.

Full lifecycle flight-software experience is valuable. Years of experience are not a fixed threshold the breadth and impact of your work matter more.
