EHS Engineer
We are partnering with a fast-growing aerospace and advanced manufacturing company seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer to help build and scale safety programs in a hands-on engineering environment. This role is critical in ensuring safe operations across complex hardware, test environments, and manufacturing processes.
This is an opportunity to shape safety from the ground up, working closely with engineering and operations teams to create practical, effective systems that support both people and product.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs in line with OSHA, EPA, and regulatory standards
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses across manufacturing, testing, and lab environments
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and internal policies
- Lead investigations into incidents, near-misses, and environmental events, driving root cause and corrective actions
- Perform safety audits, inspections, and emergency response drills
- Deliver training on workplace safety, hazardous materials handling, and emergency procedures
- Maintain and manage safety documentation including SOPs, inspection procedures, and maintenance records
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to integrate safety into new processes, equipment, and facility design
- Provide safety oversight on electrical systems, mechanical setups, chemical handling, and test environments
- Ensure proper implementation of PPE, lockout/tagout, signage, and environmental controls
- Track and report on safety performance, compliance activities, and environmental impact
- Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and relevant regulatory frameworks
- Experience with risk assessments, hazard analysis, and incident investigation
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and component data sheets
- Familiarity with safety standards across electrical, fire, chemical, mechanical, and environmental domains
- Strong organizational skills with experience managing safety documentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Experience
- Background in aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments
- Experience in startup or rapidly scaling environments
- Certified forklift trainer or similar safety certifications
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $86,000 – $110,000
- Equity included as part of the compensation package
